Although time flows forward like a river, social change doesn't flow evenly—it rushes forward in some places while barely moving in others, like a waterway with both rapids and quiet pools.
"And if you are in a tough time now, give yourself some grace. You might write your future self a letter, telling them how hard you are working now for a better life for them." thanks, I need to hear this.
This was truly beautiful and deeply heartwarming. Looking at the past with anger or regret is something that I consider a sentence in life and yet here am I currently struggling to overcome this feeling. Reading this resonated with me and served as a reminder that all we have to do sometimes is to listen and sit still for a moment. Thank you ❤️
A beautiful piece, thank you. For about 25 years I've been collecting vintage snapshots, found in junk shops, flea markets, and secondhand stores in the US, Canada, UK, Italy, and a few other places in Europe. Not so much the studio portraits that one thinks of when antique photos are mentioned, but the day-to-day snaps of real life. Each one is a time travel machine that takes us to a specific time and place. It's absolutely magic.
Contemporary Time Travel. I'm exploring it now and have been for a while although I haven't applied the term CTT. Your post certainly speaks to me and makes me even more interested in sharing my CTTravels. I believe it is a way to heal and joing the generations, past, present and future. For me I'm at a point in my life where although I have no regret about not having children it does come to my mind from time to time, the question: What (and to whom) am I leaving as a legacy of my life?
I felt nostalgic for *your* family just reading this and looking at that gorgeous black and white photo! Also, you manage to articulate so clearly and intelligently many garbled thoughts I’ve had on the threads of time and how they weave and rend and loop backwards and forwards…love the concept of contemporary time travel. Fascinating, well-written and thoroughly enjoyable read, thank you 😊
"In another life..." I tend to wonder a lot about what my other lives are up to. I see it in my current life where some of my parallels turn into perpendiculars and we weave a new life, with a new interest/new hobby, but some things I just know were better off in some other life of mine.

Thank you so much Franco that is legitimately touching 🥹🥲
