I didn't get into it in the interview but I totally should've--the connection between this app and buddhism is totally there. Please tell me about what you've found in Zen and what I should learn!
Where to even begin? If I had to boil it down to its essence, Zen is living a life of radical acceptance of all that happens free of all judgements and preconceived notions. If you can do this, nothing that happens can truly hurt you. You do what you think is best, live justly and honorably, and accept whatever happens beyond that as part of the ever evolving unfolding system of nature that is beyond all human understanding, good or bad. We are a node of self awareness on an ocean of consciousness. Recognize that everything is connected, we live in a deterministic universe and we are bound as one by the universal consciousness underlying all of reality. Do not lie, cheat or steal, from yourself or others. Because by doing so you are only harming yourself. The first one is especially important because everyone lies to themselves because the Ego is an illusion, a set of stories we tell ourselves about ourselves to make sense of the chaos of reality we are subjected too from birth. Toddlers are all little zen masters because they are still purely connected to the source before layer after layer of language cognitive architecture and self soothing storytelling gets built on top as they grow up. All of this degrades your connection to the Absolute. They live truly in the moment, which is also the goal of zen. Spread love fearlessly and explore your passions and intuitions, they are what make you unique. I believe the point of life is to live it authentically and create and experience as much as you can in honor of the fact that you are a unique expression of the Absolute at the root of it all.
This looks so interesting. Will have to give it a shot.
I've loved it! Done it for 2.5 years! If you liked the post please check out the podcast version here! https://open.spotify.com/episode/0pqGkwOJuA7kswDtnrbmEe?si=28350971cfa54353
As someone currently really into zen stuff this seems like it will be a good reminder to live in the moment while also documenting your life.

That’s so beautiful, but also challenging. Thank you for a lovely reply. Wisdom to strive towards
